The yellow warbler is one of the brightest songbirds of North American summers. The card builds the bird in three tones of yellow, set against deep brown wing patches and a tail that gives it weight. Yellow warblers carry their color in pigment, not in light, which is why the layered quilling stacks tonal yellows rather than using contrast tricks. The branch carries small orange berry coils as seasonal contrast against the bright yellow body.
The bird body alone is built from over thirty quilled coils across three yellow tones, dark brown wings, and a cream belly. The orange berries are tight coils, each rolled separately and set against the green branch as small punctuation.
