The cards, and how they are made.
Are these cards really handmade?
Yes. Every card is hand-quilled in our studio in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The whole design is built by hand, in rolled and shaped paper. Two to three artisans collaborate on every card, so no single person builds one alone.
Does one artisan make the whole card?
No. Each artisan specializes in a quilling technique, such as line placement, filling, or assembly, and is skilled across several. Two to three collaborate on every card, so no single person builds one alone.
How long does it take to make one card?
About two hours per card on average, roughly 120 minutes, across two to three specialist artisans. More intricate designs take longer, and the build time for each design is listed on its product page.
How is Vonderly different from a brand that produce printed cards?
Those brands print at scale. A Vonderly card is hand-quilled by women artisans in Jaffna, about two hours of work per card, and it ships in a rigid kraft box so it arrives ready to display or frame. The difference is a made object rather than a printed one.
Shipping and delivery.
How long does shipping to the United States take?
Three options ship from Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Post standard takes 3 to 4 weeks, EMS Speed Post takes 10 to 14 working days, and DHL Express takes 5 to 7 working days. EMS and DHL carry an additional charge, shown at checkout. Standard shipping is free on orders over $35.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Yes. We ship to the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and most of Europe. Carrier options and delivery windows for each destination are shown at checkout.
Can I track my order?
Yes. You receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. DHL Express is fully tracked in real time, EMS Speed Post updates at key transit points, and Sri Lanka Post standard has limited tracking.
Will I pay customs or import duties?
Any import duties or taxes are set by your destination country and are not included in the card price. Most single-card orders arrive with no duty, but thresholds vary by country and change over time. Where a charge applies, it is the recipient's responsibility.
My order has not arrived. What do I do?
Check your tracking link first. If tracking shows no movement for five or more working days past the estimated window, or the package is marked delivered but has not reached you, contact us and we will open an inquiry with the carrier.
Materials, care, and packaging.
What materials are used?
The base is 300gsm white card stock. All quilled elements are hand-rolled paper strips attached with water-based, non-toxic adhesives. There are no synthetic materials in the quilled card, and no plastic beyond the protective sleeve.
How should I store or care for the card?
Keep the card away from moisture and direct sunlight. Store it flat in the kraft box it arrives in, or frame it in a standard 5 by 5 inch square frame. Do not press on the quilled surface.
Are the cards safe for children to handle?
The adhesives are water-based and non-toxic, and all materials are paper. The cards are not toys, and should be kept away from very young children who may pull at the raised quilled elements.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Yes. Direct orders ship in a front-opening kraft box, and wholesale orders ship in five-card kraft boxes. Both are recyclable kraft. The only non-paper element is the protective sleeve around the card.

Wholesale and custom.
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes. Vonderly is available to US retailers on Faire and to EU retailers on Tara. The minimum order is five designs, and pricing and terms are handled through those platforms.
Can I order a custom or corporate card?
Individual one-off custom cards are not available. For corporate gifting or large occasions, we design bespoke cards in runs of fifty or more. Email custom@vonderly.com and we will discuss volume and timeline.
