Christmas Tree is a handmade quilled Christmas greeting card, a fringed pine in two greens over a dark brown trunk, with an orange star at the top and red and gold ornaments across the branches. "Merry Christmas!" is printed above in black script.

The design
The branches are fringed, each strip cut into a comb of fine teeth and then rolled so the teeth splay outward, which is what gives the tree its depth from the side. The trunk is husked in stacked layers. The star and the ornament dots are cut shapes rather than rolled, which keeps the dots small enough to read as lights.

Most Christmas post is a printed box of twenty, sent because it is December. This is the one that goes to the people who would notice the difference, and the sort of card that gets propped on a shelf in January rather than recycled with the rest.

Every Vonderly card is built by 2 to 3 specialists working in sequence. The artisan below led the work on this one.
I do the coils and most of the leaves on our cards. The coils have to be the same size all the way through. If one is wrong, you can see it on the finished card. The leaves I shape on a comb, that is how they get their curve. This part of the work I am fastest at, because I have done it the longest.

Will this survive being posted and then displayed?
What is paper quilling?
Paper quilling is the art of rolling, shaping and arranging narrow strips of paper to create raised designs. On Vonderly cards, each visible quilled element is shaped and placed by hand rather than printed.
How long does it take to make a Vonderly card?
A Vonderly card typically takes around 90 minutes of handwork. Different parts may pass through specialist hands for shaping, detailing and assembly before the finished card is checked and packed.
What comes with each card?
Each card measures 5 × 5 inches, is blank inside for your own message, and comes with a 5.25 × 5.25-inch kraft envelope.
What if my card arrives damaged?
We replace it at no cost, and you keep the original. Email hello@vonderly.com within 30 days of delivery with a photo, and we ship a replacement or issue a refund. There is nothing to send back.
